The investigating judge Adolfo Carretero, in charge of the investigation against Íñigo Errejón for alleged sexual crimes, has “agreed to the suspension of the deadlines and procedural acts in relation to the proceedings” that were initiated following a complaint by actress Elisa Mouliaá. As reported by Europa Press, the suspension of the case has been decreed at the request of Mouliaá’s lawyer, who is on medical leave.
“The suspension was agreed upon following a request from the legal representation of the complainant,” reported the Court of Instruction number 47 of Madrid. Precisely this Tuesday, the complainant and the former deputy from Sumar were summoned to testify. The instructor had initially summoned Elisa Mouliaá last Thursday, but postponed the appearance to this Tuesday also at the request of the lawyer, who was gathering testimonies from other victims to prepare the defense.
So, as planned, the actress had to go to Plaza de Castilla at nine in the morning, one hour before the defendant was summoned. But after the provisional suspension of the investigations, the statements will not take place until Elisa Mouliaá’s lawyer receives the medical discharge, which she has requested due to her pregnancy.
18 days have passed since the scandal surrounding Íñigo Errejón broke out following an anonymous complaint spread by journalist Cristina Fallarás. The judicial investigation into the events reported by Elisa Mouliaá has been postponed ‘sine die’. The judicial process began following a complaint that the actress filed at the police station on Friday, October 25. The Family and Women Unit (UFAM) of the National Police was in charge of collecting the testimony of the complainant and sent it in its entirety to the Madrid justice system.
The Court of Instruction number 47 of the capital was in charge of the matter in turn of distribution, and Judge Adolfo Carretero officially confirmed that Íñigo Errejón had left his deputy recordand therefore lost its jurisdiction before the Supreme Court. Once it was confirmed that the Madrid court was competent to take on the proceedings, the investigator decided to begin with the testimony of the complainant and that of the person under investigation, but both have been suspended.
The complaint that gave rise to the case recounts a meeting between Mouliáa and Errejón in September 2021. He invited her to the presentation of his book, and there they met for the first time. At the end of the event, Errejón invited him to have a beer, and then she took him to a party at a friends’ house. On the way to the house, he told her that he was going to impose “three rules” that night: “The first, that she should not go too far from him; the second, that if she did, she should not go more than twenty meters from him and to come back in a minute; and the third time, to give him a kiss.”
At that time, as he later explained to the police, The actress felt “violated”but he remained silent and they both continued on the way to the party. Already in the elevator, Errejón grabbed her “tightly by the waist” and kissed her “in a violent way.” According to Mouliáa’s story, they were both dancing, drinking and chatting with those attending that party, but the moment she began to dance with a friend of hers, Errejón began to suffer “an attack of jealousy.”
His reaction was to grab the actress’s arm and take her to one of the rooms of the house. Immediately afterwards, always according to the testimony of the complainant, the deputy “he bolted the door” to prevent Mouliaá from escaping. He began to touch her, pushed her onto the bed and “took out his penis.” She managed to stop Errejón, but with the condition – which she agreed to – of leaving for the politician’s house after 20 minutes. The harassment continued there, according to Mouliaá.
