Controlling the media is profitable for certain politicians, in fact, it is the fundamental objective of those who already concede in advance that due to their mediocrity they need lies to win and remain in power. The core of the outcome of the responsibilities for the Valencian DANA seems to demonstrate this. And that is the crux of what is happening to us, what is democratically dangerous, the control of information, that is, disinformation. One already suspected it, in fact, the budding plutocrat and autocrat began controlling a program, a television, certain journalists and the social network, the latter in close partnership with Elon Musk, who according to some has also won the elections. In any case, looked at from another perspective, it is still an excuse for its voters, they have voted deceived, uninformed. It is a long but effective task that bears fruit, thousands of hours in front of television receiving processed information is bad for democratic health.

Without a doubt, there are journalists who tell the truth, thanks to them we will see some light, the responsibilities will be something else; Others, however, tell what is in their paid imagination or in billable slogans and arguments.

Of course, you do not have to go overseas to observe the effects of disinformation and its radiating core against democracy, let’s say Madrid and branches, where the concentration and centralization of the political message occurs. The radiality also allows a great capacity for mobilization when there is a smell of blood and there is detritus and garbage freely available. There are many examples of overexposure, the spread of diffuse discomfort, habitual posturing and media predation; I will only list some of them, which range from stating that hundreds of bodies were in a garage, to muddying sets as decoration, denying the facts, the presence of the State, telling without breaking a sweat, in an act of courtly vassalage, that the king has control in troops and military personnel deployed before the Government on which it constitutionally depends or that there has been a miraculous collective conversion to the independence movement of the indignant Valencian people.

Deception and political lies are impossible without the alliance and active collaboration of the media and journalists for something that corrodes and attempts to blur the demand for responsibilities, clarification and transparency of what happened but, above all, affects democracy itself as promotes discredit in institutions. Without a doubt, there are journalists who tell the truth, thanks to them we will see some light, the responsibilities will be something else; Others, however, tell what is in their paid imagination or in billable slogans and arguments. The first is journalism, the second is activism and a daunting task. There is also the journalist so proud of his actions and mission that he believes that he and his performance are the crude protagonist of other people’s misfortune.

From classical Greece comes the reflection of Anaxagoras, teacher of Pericles, father of Hellenic democracy and, therefore, our grandfather: if you are deceived once, it is the fault of the one who deceived you; If two fool you, it’s your fault.
