Agents of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard have arrested two other crew members of the drug boat that attacked two agents in Barbate (Cádiz) on February 9, as sources from the investigation have confirmed to Europa Press.
The detainees were two people of Moroccan nationality who accompanied Karim El Baqqali, who had already been arrested previously for his alleged relationship with these events and was sent to prison without bail in September. The aforementioned sources assure that a fourth occupant of the drug boat that ended the lives of the Civil Guard agents in the port of Barbate remains to be located.
Those arrested, who were detained this Friday in the city of Cadiz, will be taken to the Cádiz Command of the Civil Guard and then brought to justice.
On September 20, the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Barbate decreed the imprisonment of Karim El Baqqali, arrested last Thursday for the death of two civil guards in the Cádiz port of Barbate on February 9.
As detailed at the time by the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia, the court ordered, at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office – to which the rest of the accusations made in the case have joined – the entry into provisional prison, communicated and without bail in relation to the events that occurred last February.
Initially, he is charged with two crimes of murder, four crimes of attempted murder, six crimes of attack, one crime of smuggling and one crime of belonging to a criminal organization. The cause is declared secret.
It should be remembered that the detainee was brought before the Court this Friday morning. It was then that he admitted in his statements before the Civil Guard that he was piloting the drug boat that ran over the agents’ boat, although he excused himself saying that it was an accident for which he has apologized.
