Agents from the Internal Affairs Unit of the National Police have arrested the chief inspector who heads the Money Laundering Group of the Higher Headquarters in Madrid for allegedly being involved in businesses linked to drug trafficking, police sources have confirmed to Europa Press.
During this week, the agents have carried out searches in the office of this police command and the residence of the couple – who has also been arrested -, where a considerable sum of cash was found in the office of the chief inspector, close to one million. of euros.
But a more shocking discovery occurred when inspecting the police chief’s home in Alcalá de Henares. There the agents discovered more than 15 million euros sandwiched in the walls, according to what was published Vozpopuli.
The Central Court number 1 of the National Court, which is handling the investigation, has declared summary secrecy to continue with the investigation, without ruling out possible new arrests. The arrest could be related to a recent operation in Algeciras in which a total of 13,060 kilos of cocaine were seized, the largest haul in the history of Spain.
