Álvaro Morata, AC Milan’s Spanish striker, has been hospitalized for a “major head injury” caused in a crash during the Rossonero team’s training session, as announced by the Lombard club.
As a precaution
The striker will spend the night in the Legnano hospital, near Milan, for observation as a precaution.
“During the morning training session, Morata was the victim of a crash that caused significant head trauma. He was rushed to the hospital [de Legnano]where an MRI has given a negative result,” says AC Milan, which adds that Morata “is better, but he will remain admitted to the hospital for observation, following the protocol for these cases.”
According to some Italian media, the clash between the captain of the European champion Spanish team was with Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic.
Morata’s participation in Milan’s next match in the Italian league championship, on Saturday against Cagliari, is practically ruled out.
The 32-year-old Madrid striker, back in the Italian Serie A this summer signed by Milan to Atlético, has scored three goals in 12 games. His last goal was on Tuesday in the Champions League against Real Madrid, 1-2.
