The Town Hall of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat has approved a moratorium d’un any per a l’atorgament de tourist habitat licenses (HUT), hostels, pensions and youth hostels. During this time, the consistori decided to promote a new place of habitation which defines the permitted uses in the city as a whole and which is adjusted to the legal decree approved by the Generalitat to minimize the presence of the tourist apartment sector in Catalonia.
“We will guarantee that the habitats are a priority destination for the families of the city and not for tourists,” defended the mayor of the city, David Quirós. The Hospitalet will approve an urban planning modification in 2019 because the HUT itself cannot be located in central buildings. Remember that Hospitalet is one of the municipalities declared a residential market area that regulates the rental price.
Moderation has been fruit of a pact between the PSC and the Commons. The moratòria adapts the urban regime in force to the municipality, including the specific modification of the PGM for the regulation of the employment conditions of the tourist habitats and the establishments destined for temporary allotment.
