The spokesperson for the Asturian Executive has announced the main figures of the regional budgets after finishing the first round of meetings with the opposition groups, in which the Government, headed by its president, Adrián Barbón, has held meetings with the PP, Foro and the deputy of the mixed group Covadonga Tomé.
The 2025 accounts will have 242 million euros less from the liquidation of the 2022 regional financing model, around 100 million less from the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism and 60 million that the Principality would not receive if the proposed deficit ceiling is not approved. by the Government.
However, Peláez explained that the improvement in economic activity and job creation in the Principality has an impact on the income of the regional administration.
The Minister of the Treasury has indicated that, in the concept of payments on account, Asturias will receive a total of 3,733 million euros in 2025, which means an increase of 8.58 percent.
After emphasizing that the Executive has no “will” to raise taxes next year, the counselor has estimated the non-financial spending limit at 5.4 billion, numbers “very similar” to those of this year.
Peláez has stressed that the “maintenance of the welfare state” has “higher” costs than those of the current year, with the increase in salaries to civil servants and the increase in the costs of supplies and works due to the increase in price. of the materials.
The Asturian Executive – supported by 19 socialist deputies and three from IU-Convocatoria por Asturies – needs at least one more vote to move forward with this bill and, if it has this support, it would be the sixth bills approved consecutively. by the Barbón Government.
Tomé’s proposals
The deputy of the mixed group Covadonga Tomé has trusted that most of the proposals that she will send to the Executive in the coming days will be reflected in the Principality’s 2025 budget project to be able to give a “yes” to these accounts.
The parliamentarian has indicated that there may be “harmony” with the coalition government given that they share objectives in terms of housing, mental health and the maintenance of the productive fabric.
