The Court of Instruction number 3 of Torrent has opened an investigation into the attacks against the kings, Pedro Sanchez and Carlos Mazón during his visit to Paiporta, one of the areas most devastated by the DANAon Sunday. According to La Sexta, the court has initiated proceedings for possible crimes of attack, public disorder and damage after receiving a police report.
The Civil Guard began the investigation into what happened on the same Sunday afternoon, and has submitted a report this Monday. Finally, the matter has fallen to the Investigative Court number 3. The Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV) has reported through its X account of the beginning of the investigations: “[El Juzgado de] Instruction 3 of Torrent has received a report from the Civil Guard for the incidents that occurred yesterday during the visit of the kings, the president of the Government and the president of the Generalitat, to Paiporta and has initiated preliminary proceedings to investigate the events.”

The delegation that visited Paiporta this Sunday was received with screams, insults and mud. Several citizens threw mud at Felipe VI, Queen Letizia, the president of the Valencian Community, Carlos Mazón, and the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez.
During the altercations, two attacks occurred. On the one hand, a bodyguard from the Royal House ended up bloodied after receiving a blow to the head. On the other hand, an individual threw a stick at Sánchez’s back and his escort activated a security device to evacuate the president from the place while the kings remained among the crowd.
Besides, a group of people stoned the vehicle in which the president had arrived and broke several car windows, which could fit into the crime of damage classified in article 263 of the Penal Code. This crime is punishable by up to three years in prison when it is carried out “to prevent the free exercise of authority.”
The crime of attack, one of the three being investigated in the Torrent court, would refer to the attacks directed against the President of the Government. This crime is classified in article 550 of the Penal Code, which punishes those who attack and those who “with serious intimidation or violence” resist authority. When it is directed against certain high-ranking institutional officials, including the President of the Government, the crime is punishable by up to six years in prison.
