The tragedy caused by DANA in Valencia is leaving images of solidarity in the midst of the devastation, thanks to the thousands of volunteers who have mobilized at ground zero to help with whatever is needed.
But, in the worst moments the most negative aspects of society also come to light and in this catastrophe it has come in the form of thieves and looters who in recent days have tried to destroy shops, establishments and homes.
There are more than 70 detainees and a dozen individuals have been sent to prison for acts of looting, theft and robbery in these dark days for the Valencian Community and Spain.
The famous presenter has spoken about this reprehensible phenomenon Ramon Garcia during the program ‘In company’ on Castilla La Mancha television that he co-presents with Gloria Santoro.
«48 hours have passed, 41 people have been arrested for looting, for stealing while others are dead, the bodies are still there. Well, they have arrested 41 people, imagine those who are dedicating themselves to looting,” he commented.
And he harshly criticized these people while reflecting on society:
«That is society, Not everything is cool, not everything is pretty, not everything is good. I think covering this up is not good either. It must be said, there are real riff-raff living among us. Real trash. “Me, to all the people who, with what is happening, are dedicated to stealing, to those who have been left with nothing, I would put them in jail and throw away the key,” he said.
«Exemplary measures will have to be taken in situations of this type. It’s happening now, and it’s been 48 hours since all this happened.and we still don’t even know how many dead there are. Well, this must also be told, it must not be covered up,” he concluded, highlighting the importance of also reporting on these criminal acts in the midst of tragedy that reflect the worst of human beings.
