In the race tomorrow it may rain a lot, but today there was plenty of pace in the car. “I hope to be quick on one lap, I hope to be able to limit the damage despite that 5-place action.”

The history of the Interlagos circuit
The track where the Brazilian GP is held is located in the suburbs of Sao Paulo. The name Interlagos comes from the fact that the circuit was built in a region between two large artificial lakes, Guarapiranga and Bilings, which were designed at the beginning of the 20th century to supply the city with drinking water and electricity. It was the idea of French urban planner Alfred Agache due to the similarity with the Swiss region of Interlaken, which means ‘between lakes’. Later, he was renamed in the 70s as José Carlos Pace in honor of the then recently deceased Formula 1 driver.
