Francisco Hortigüela, founder and CEO of Inbusiness 5.0, has been elected president of the technology association Ametic for the next four years, according to the majority votes of the members of the board of directors of the aforementioned association. Specifically, Hortigüela received the support of 30 representatives of the associates, compared to 21 supports from the opposing candidacy, led by Ezequiel Navarro.
After the elections held this Thursday, the new board of directors of Ametic will be made up of Alicia AsínCEO of Libelium, as vice president; Sandra Figaredo, of INNOCV and the Spanish Startup Association, as general secretary; and Jose Luis ManzanaresCEO of Ayesa, as treasurer.
The Executive Committee is also made up of Josep Aracil from Inetum; Elena Díaz-Alejo of Samsung; Maria Castiella de Apple; Adolfo Borrero of AALTO; Chelo Abarca from Amazon and Natalia Ares, from Xiaomi. This new Board of Directors will focus its work on a more open association at the service of associates, improving territorial, business and associative representation in an Executive Committee and Advisory Committee.
Hortigüela’s electoral program highlights the commitment to “greater diversity and representativeness, improving the inclusion of diversity between women and men in their activities as a true reflection of the feelings of the technology sector, which they already have integrated as a culture in their companies.” He also advocates due to greater transparency, both from doors to the inside and from doors to the outside. To do this, the board “will establish tools that provide greater confidence in management.”
The association will also promote internal talent management by improving the jobs of the association’s professionals, with a career plan, specialized training and active participation of these in the management committees, something that was lost in the stage former. In addition, it contemplates the incorporation of emerging companies into the Ametic ecosystem to promote public-private collaboration and innovation. Sources from Hortigüela’s candidacy point out that “the democratization of technology currently means that SMEs can work with emerging companies and their innovation results in improved competitiveness.”
Along with all of the above, Hortigüela aims to “improve participation and communication between the association’s governing bodies, promote participation and networking among associates, and participate in the most important national and international forums.”
