These features, powered by Gemini, are based on reliable data from 250 million places and feedback from the Maps community. They will begin rolling out in the United States this week on Android and iOS, and in the coming months they will also arrive on Search, including AI-generated review summaries and detailed questions about places.

Improved navigation for a smooth ride

To make every stage of the journey easier, Google Maps has launched a major update to its navigation. Now, it’s possible to explore the route before you leave, adding stops to view points of interest, attractions and dining options along the way.

Explore Immersive View, now in more cities

With Immersive View, it is possible to explore stadiums, parks and routes in detail, visualizing the weather and traffic conditions on the specific day and time. Starting this week, Immersive View expands to 150 cities, including Brussels, Kyoto and Frankfurt, and incorporates new categories, such as university campuses. Plus, it shows key points on the route, such as parking lots and difficult turns, so drivers are prepared.
