He Real Betis has celebrated the platform’s fourth anniversary Forever Green. A project that is committed to the environmental sustainability of the club and for which they have worked to fight against climate change. The actions they have promoted since their creation in 2020 have made them one of the leading football entities in this matter. In addition, the consulting firm Brand Fiannce has recognized Betis as the second most sustainable European team and the first in LaLiga.
Since this platform was created, there have been 174 actions in 74 countries. These acts include the cleaning of natural environments, installation of bicycle parking on match days, promoting the use of public transport thanks to promotions and carrying out recycling campaigns. The club has also made changes to its facilities to reduce the impact on the environment.
The main objective of Forever Green is to give a voice to companies and organizations that are carrying out actions against climate change with the intention that citizens join this cause. In this way, they have achieved that more than 94 companies join this platform. However, the club will continue working so that this number increases and the impact is greater.
Álvaro Trigo’s challenge for the Guadalquivir
Alvaro Trigo has been the protagonist of the challenge that Betis has promoted through the Forever Green platform to celebrate the fourth anniversary. The athlete was going to kayak the Guadalquivir River from Sanlúcar de Barrameda to Seville. An adventure that began last Monday, but due to inclement weather had to be suspended after 20 kilometers had been covered. The objective of this feat was not only to clean the river, but to raise awareness among fans of the importance of taking care of our environment.
This challenge has not been the first that Álvaro Trigo has carried out with Betis. In 2020, he carried out a solidarity race from Ubrique to Benito Villamarín to raise funds for a Betic follower who had lost both legs in a fire and needed prosthetics.
