José Alberto arranged for the debut in the KO tournament a eleven made up of nine players from the first team -although Jeremy has a reserve team record- and two from Rayo Cantabria: Carrascal, who has already played two games in LaLiga Hypermotion this season, and Gomeza, who made his debut with the green and white professional team. The match, and therefore the tie that was held in a single match, was for Racing, although The Canaries closed the gap before the break. 1-2.
The Unión Deportiva Lanzarote, which is directed by former professional player Socorro (he had a successful career in the Unión Deportiva Las Palmas), received another two goals in the second act. The first was Jeremy’s work at Sangalli’s pass, who had replaced Karrikaburu, and the Suleiman’s second. 1-4. But the locals wanted to sell their defeat dearly and adjusted the score with two more goals from Ale Fuentes, who scored a hat trick. The Canarian Pablo Rodríguez and another youth player, Dani González, came out in the final stretch of the duel of the KO tournament. End. 3-4.
POSITIVE THINGS
José Alberto, after the clash in Lanzarote, said that “there have been positive things and others that I have not liked and we have to improve. I think that the people who have come have had fun, they have seen goals and we have passed the tie” – something that had not been achieved in the last two seasons. The green and white coach, finally, positively valued the performance of the reserve team players who performed at the Pancho Bermúdez and assured that “now we have to think about the next LaLiga Hypermotion match against Albacete at El Sardinero.”
