At noon this Saturday a fire broke out in the Church of San Antonio Abad. A large column of smoke has alerted passers-by and several fire crews have traveled to the scene.
Origin of the fire
Everything seems to indicate that the flames would have originated in the patio that led to the temple, where, among others, the figure of Saint Jude Thaddeus. Precisely, the first hypotheses point to the devotional candles that are placed in this carving as a possible origin of the fire.
The carving of San Judas Tadeo has not been burned
The firefighters deployed to the scene have been able to put out the flames and are aiming at the altarpiece of San Judas Tadeo with metal structures, one of the most devotional in the city and which is about to celebrate its name day, next Monday, October 28.
