There is little left until the year ends and a new one begins. And, as usual, there are payments that have to be faced at home on a day-to-day basis in which an increase is common, although sometimes rates or taxes are also frozen.
And what happens with the garbage rate in the city of Zaragoza? The price has already been reviewed by the City Council. And does it go down or up? The answer is that there will be a rate rise that families living in the capital will have to face in 2025. An increase that occurs to match the real cost of the services provided and improve the water supply network.
The water and garbage rate will increase by 12.66% on average. This percentage means that a household with a family made up of three people residing in Zaragoza will have to face a average increase of 34.17 euros per year.
Of this amount, around 23.69 euros per year will correspond to the water part of the bill, while The collection and treatment of waste, that is, garbage, will experience an increase of 10.48 euros in the receipt that, in Zaragoza, is issued together with both concepts: water and garbage.
However, households with lower incomes will be able to qualify for bonuses. For example, it is planned to provide an 83% bonus to those families with incomes of less than 16,885 euros. This percentage will be 50% for those with incomes between 16,865 and 21,984 euros. 7.5% will be applied to those who prove income from 21,984 euros to 24,238 euros.
