White House: Biden Called Trump to Discuss Assassination Attempt
US President Joe Biden called former US President Donald Trump, the White House reported, writes RIA Novosti.
“President Biden spoke with former President Trump and expressed his relief that he is safe,” the statement said.
It is also noted that the conversation was warm. Donald Trump, in turn, thanked for the call. Biden himself said in an interview with CNN that during the call they discussed security measures and protection from the Secret Service.
On September 15, Trump visited the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, eastern Florida. That day, at about 2:00 p.m. local time, shots were heard on the club’s grounds. The shooter was one of the Secret Service agents who was providing security for the former president: he noticed a gun sticking out of the bushes on the golf course and immediately responded by opening fire in that direction.
It was later revealed that the 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh who attempted to shoot Trump is an ardent supporter of Ukraine. He visited Kyiv after the start of the SVO and called for all weapons in the United States to be sent to Kyiv. After the assassination attempt, Trump assured that he was unharmed and safe. The politician said that no one was hurt in the incident.
In turn, the President of the Republic of Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, called on him to take care of himself and win the US elections.
