The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Monday (9) that its troops located a Hamas weapons production machine in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City.
In addition to the discovery, according to Tel Aviv, reservists from the Jerusalem Brigade killed dozens of terrorists and destroyed other points in the city used by the Palestinian group to carry out attacks against Israeli territory, including a new hidden tunnel.
Also over the weekend, two commanders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad battalion were killed in an Israeli airstrike, according to information from the IDF and Tel Aviv’s internal intelligence, the Shin Bet.
The airstrikes targeted command rooms at two former schools in Gaza City from where the terrorists operated.
According to a statement from the IDF and Shin Bet on Saturday (7), “several terrorist operatives were killed,” including Abdullah Khattab, commander of Islamic Jihah’s Southern Deir al-Balah Battalion, and Hatem Abu al-Jidyan, commander of the Eastern Deir al-Balah Battalion.
According to the Israeli military, Khattab supervised a battalion during the October 7 attack and was involved in several attacks against Israel and its troops, including firing rockets and anti-tank weapons.
Contrary to the pattern pursued by Hamas, Israel said it took “many precautions” to avoid harming civilians, including using precision munitions, aerial surveillance and gathering information on the terrorists’ locations.
