Iran against Israel’s “criminal” attack in Syria. Gantz to Blinken: “More pressure on Hamas needed”
Israel’s National Unity Party leader Benny Gantz told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the world must apply more military pressure on Hamas in Gaza as a hostage-taking deal appears to be stalling.
Gantz, who met with Blinken on the sidelines of a conference in Washington, says his opposition party is willing to provide Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a political safety net to reach a deal.
“After months of Hamas not accepting the framework, we expect the world to support Israel in increasing civil and military pressure on Gaza,” Gantz said. “This is what led to the first hostage deal and this is what will accelerate the defeat of Hamas.”
