Sharjah International Cricket Stadium celebrated its top spot on the list of world stadiums, confirming its place in the Guinness Book of Records, by hosting the 250th international tournament since its establishment 40 years ago, making it the most prestigious and oldest stadium in the world.
The administration of the university organized a special celebration for this occasion, which took place on the sidelines of the one-day tournament that brought together the Afghan and South African teams.
The celebration was attended by cricket icons from across the country, most notably Ahmed Al Midfa, co-founder of cricket in the UAE and Chairman of the Sharjah Cricket Committee, Waleed Bu Khater, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Cricket Board of Directors, Khalaf Bu Khater, CEO of Sharjah Cricket, and a large number of officials from the game’s association, as well as cricket icons from the UAE and the Asian continent.
