SHOT: Maslyakov received palliative care in Moscow in his last days
The last days of the life of KVN host Alexander Maslyakov were spent in the palliative care department of one of Moscow’s hospitals. This was reported by the SHOT Telegram channel.
According to him, Maslyakov had been battling cancer for two years. Eight months ago, doctors reported that the treatment was no longer helping, and he had difficulty speaking and breathing. During the entire treatment, the TV presenter did not communicate with journalists, focusing on his family.
As Honored Artist of the RSFSR Stanislav Sadalsky said, Maslyakov was battling an inoperable tumor in his lungs.

Comedian and showman Mikhail Galustyan, who became popular thanks to KVN, said that Maslyakov provided a path to the world for many young talents. He called the TV presenter a great man and a legend.
Former member of the Uralskie Pelmeni team Sergei Svetlakov called Maslyakov’s death a great loss, and the KVN host a strong man who “was himself the planet around which we all revolved.”
Comedian Pavel Volya thanked Maslyakov “for youth” and “for a start in life.” His colleague Garik Kharlamov, who left KVN as a result of a conflict with Maslyakov, also publicly thanked him.
Actor and TV presenter Dmitry Nagiyev, who was on the KVN jury, said that he last spoke to Maslyakov two months ago. “I called about a month ago, but he didn’t pick up. I spoke with his wife Svetlana, she said that Alexander Vasilyevich had a slight runny nose,” he recalls.
RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan expressed the opinion that people like Maslyakov “are not made anymore.” The head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, called the KVN host a legend of Russian television and the creator of a real national school of humor and satire.
