Uniqlo, Clare Waight Keller is the new creative director
Clare Waight Keller is the new creative director of Uniqlo. Since September 2023, Waight Keller had already contributed to the Uniqlo project: C, but will now also lead the brand’s core collection, including men’s wear. Its promotion underlines a growing trend of collaborations between luxury designers and the low-cost segment: after Zac Posen for Gap and the recent collaborations of H&M with Karl Lagerfeld and Zara with Narciso Rodriguez and Rhuigi Villaseñor, Uniqlo joins this movement.
Before joining UniqloWaight Keller was creative director of Givenchy until 2020 and gained international fame for Meghan Markle’s wedding dress in 2018, the same year she was honored at the Fashion Awards. She has previously worked for Chloé, Pringle of Scotland and Gucci under Tom Ford.
“Working with Uniqlo over the past two years, I have been blown away by the innovation and quality of the products. It is an honor to be part of the evolution of LifeWear,” said Waight Keller.
