Estudiantes de la Plata saved a draw at home this Monday against Boca Juniors, in a match of the Argentine League, thanks to a goal from the Colombian Edwin Cetré.
According to the criteria of
The 1-1 sums up what was seen on the pitch in La Plata. Because Boca was very good in the first half, where they only needed to put it in the net. And in the second half they found themselves 1-0 after a mistake by Lollo that ended up being pushed into the net by the always well-positioned Milton Giménez.
However, the second half was all Estudiantes’, who got the better of a Xeneize team that stopped attacking and was retreating too far into their own half.
Until the Colombian Cetré, who was a substitute and came on in the 66th minute, took advantage of a serious mistake by goalkeeper Sergio Romero in a cross that he should have come out to intercept.
The inattention towards Advíncula ended with the Colombian heading the ball into the back of the net.
Cetré’s goal
At the end, Pincha scored the 2-1 through Luciano Giménez, who also beat Romero to the punch. But the VAR saved Boca from defeat because when it drew lines it found Federico Fernández (author of the cross) offside by millimetres.
The 1-1 draw leaves the xeneize with a bittersweet taste, as during the Martínez period they are still in debt with their performances away from the Bombonera.
