With almost 12 billion streams, Luis Miguel is in the Top 4 of the most streamed solo artists on Spotify, only below Michael Jackson, Elton John and Brazilian Marília Mendonça.
“El Sol de México” managed to surpass musical legends such as Elvis Presley, David Bowie and Frank Sinatra, as well as recent stars Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, according to Spotify’s Most Streamed Legendary Soloists list.
Jackson leads the list with just over 15 billion plays, followed by John with 14.22 billion and Mendonça with 12.22 billion, where Luis Miguel, with 11.955 billion, is the only Spanish-language singer on the list.
On the aforementioned music platform, Luis Miguel has 18.3 million monthly listeners and 312 tracks.
A completely different panorama than the one the interpreter of “La Incondicional” had in 2006, when he was on the verge of bankruptcy as a result, among other things, of avoiding paying taxes for the use of a beach in Acapulco and not declaring the taxes on his property in Miami, Florida.
The singer also acquired a debt of six and a half million dollars with Alejandro Fernández after cancelling a joint concert tour scheduled for 2016.
With the intention of generating income and paying off his debts, in 2019 his friends Miguel Alemán Magnani, Carlos Bremer and Alejandro Soberón Kuri teamed up to revive his career and make Luis Miguel, La Serie, which had three seasons on Netflix.
During the first season of the series, the “Ahora Te Puede Marchar” singer pocketed $5 million, according to Forbes magazine.
Bremer, the late president of Grupo Value, said at the time that this payment increased to 15 million dollars with the success of the second and third seasons.
Luis Miguel re-emerged as King of the Box Office by selling out all the tickets to his concerts around the world.
According to a mid-year report by Pollstar magazine, after Madonna and Bad Bunny, Luis Miguel had an income of 169.4 million dollars for his Luis Miguel Tour 2023 and 2024, with more than 200 dates.
These have not been the first records for the singer, who in November 2023 became the first Mexican singer to surpass 5 billion downloads of his songs on Spotify.
Even the singer’s heart has improved. At 54, he has been in a relationship with his friend, the Spanish designer Paloma Cuevas, 51, since early 2022.
The presence of his beloved has not gone unnoticed, as she has accompanied him on every stage of his tour and it has been rumored for some time that they will get married.
Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Luis Miguel has a net worth of $180 million.
