A large company is saying goodbye today to a piece of its beating heart of the last decades. Laura Manni, head of the e-commerce team at Guccipassed away on August 7th at the young age of 55. Her sad passing comes after a long battle with illness.
The serious difficulties related to pneumonia were fatal and Manni lost her long fight. Originally from Scandicci, Laura had studied at the Enriques high school and the University of Pisa, but had been living in the surroundings of Florence for some time. Scandicci is the same city where the Gucci manager left. Here she lived with her husband and two children.
The historic Florentine fashion house is deeply saddened by the loss of a collaborator who dedicated approximately twenty years of career to the company with commitment and passion, as long as she was able due to her health conditions.
The news of her passing has deeply affected many, in addition to having shocked the family, many are deeply saddened, among friends and colleagues, and remember her with great affection and esteem. Micaela Le Divelecformer CEO of Ferragamo and former vice president of the board of directors of Gucci, wanted to remember her like this: “Laura was an extraordinary person, devoted to her family and to her work. She managed e-commerce services for many years and moved to New York to continue her duties. I had the privilege of working with her, always admiring her passion and dedication. I remember her with great affection”.
The words of the HusbandRolando Surina, released to ‘Il Tirreno’, tell of Manni’s professionalism and dedication to Gucci: “She was highly esteemed by Gucci executives for her great passion. […] She traveled a lot for work, as Gucci is a multinational with offices all over the world. Fashion was her great love, to which she dedicated her entire life.” Laura had lived and worked in the United States for Gucci from 2010 to 2012, a period during which her husband, who worked in Italy, traveled just to be with her. She later settled in the brand’s headquarters in Tuscany.
