Juarez City.- The body of “Estrellita,” a transgender woman who was found dead on Tuesday, July 30, remains at the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) as she has not been officially recognized by her loved ones.
Consulted by El Diario, activists from the LGBT+ community reported that the victim was a foreigner and had no relatives in the city. They only knew her as “Estrellita” and because of her cheerful character and personality, several people had become friends with her and supported her during her stay in this city.
The District Attorney’s Office in the Northern Zone announced that the cause of death of the woman was asphyxiation by strangulation. However, the body was lying in a huge pool of blood and traces of a fight were observed inside the house.
The body also showed an advanced state of decomposition.
The body was found by a woman who said she had gone to visit her friend, who was not answering her calls or messages, and when she went to her house she found the corpse in a state of decomposition.
Municipal police arrived at the scene located on Marfil and Calcopyrita streets in the Libertad neighborhood, while investigators from the state prosecutor’s office indicated that the victim was observed with injuries caused by some type of knife.
