The new Peugeot 3008 is facing some delays in deliveries caused by a problem with one of the powertrain components but the success of the new generation of the Lion’s sports SUV is equally confirmed by a boom in orders received in recent weeks. In the two months since pre-sales opened, 50,000 reservations have been made for the new 3008, 25% of which are for the e-3008, the 100% electric version of this model.
A completely new Peugeot 3008
The new Peugeot 3008 range in fact includes different engines, electric 210 HP, hybrid 136 HP with e-DCS6 transmission and finally plug-in hybrid 195 HP with e-DCS7. The new Peugeot e-3008 changes first of all in its shape, with the silhouette that goes from a more traditional Sport Utility to that of a Fastback SUV. The design is modern and sleek, which is reflected in a Cx of 0.28, with a particularly expressive front grille. The dimensions are also different, with an increase in length of 10 cm, going to 4.54 meters but height and width also growrespectively by 5 and 2 cm, thus reaching 1.64 meters and 1.89 meters. The wheelbase now measures 2.73 meters, 5 cm more than in the past.
Battery and charging
The third generation of the compact SUV from the Lion is the first model from the Stellantis group to be born on the STLA Medium platform which integrates 400 Volt technology as well as the predisposition for V2L, Vehicle-to-Load, up to 3 kW but above all the compatibility with fast charging up to 160 kW for the electric version. Thanks to the new platform, two battery configurations are available, 73 and 98 kWh. These are the so-called Standard Range and Long Range variants with the latter arriving up to 700 km of autonomy and can recharge from 20 to 80% in just 30 minutes.
Technological interiors
Other important news can be found inside the cockpitwhere the third generation of the Lion SUV debuts the Panoramic i-Cockpit, a 21” curved screen that integrates the instrument panel and the touch screen of the infotainment system based on the software Peugeot i-Connect with 3D Connected Navigation and trip planner, thus making the presence of a Head-up display superfluous.
And in the future…
The expansion of the electric range with the upcoming version Electric 320 Dual Motor AWD and the long-awaited version Electric 230 Long Rangewhich offers a record range of 680 km, will extend this performance in the coming months and increase the model’s EV mix
