After their solid victory against Croatia, Luis de la Fuente, coach of Spain, highlighted the work of his team, although he assured that the team has to keep its “feet on the ground.”
The Spanish strategist highlighted, individually, what was done by Lamine Yamal and Fabián Ruiz.
“But with our feet on the ground. It’s starting very well, security, morale, tranquility, but in five days we have an important match and we are already thinking about Italy”
– Luis de la Fuente
Luciano Spalletti, Italy coach, credited his players for having the ability to come back in the game despite conceding an early goal from Albania. Spalletti stated that facing the duel against Spain there are “many things to improve.”
For this match, the Italian coach has all his players available and it cannot be ruled out that he may introduce some changes to the eleven to try to surprise Spain.
Goalie: U. Simon
Defending: D. Carvajal, R. Le Normand, Nacho, M. Cucurella
Half: Rodri, Pedri, F. Ruiz
Lead: L. Yamal, A. Morata, N. Williams
Goalie: G. Donnarumma
Defending: G. Di Lorenzo, A. Bastoni, R. Calafiori, F. Dimarco
Half: D. Frattesi, Jorginho, N. Barella
Lead: F. Chiesa, G. Scamacca, L. Pellegrini
Both teams were the two favorites to finish first and second in this group, and for now they have taken the first step to achieve it: winning the first game. This duel will be crucial to determine the group order and promises to be a very close match in which anything can happen.
Italy is a serious team, despite having conceded the fastest goal in the history of the European Championship, but they showed their ability to come back. Meanwhile, Spain continues to give too many chances to the rival but has high-quality players like Pedri, Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal who make the difference. Therefore, we believe that La Roja will finally prevail over its rival, although with a very close score.
