Crazy Viking Studios has announced the return of its very badass action con Volgarr the Viking 2presented with a trailer during the Guerrilla Collective, complete with exit date quite close and launch pads, that is all.
Perhaps you will remember the first Volgarr the Viking: it is an action game with arcade-style platform elements, which has the characteristic of being extremely difficult, so much so that it requires moves made with perfect timing and execution in order to be able to advance.
As reported by the developers themselves, it is in fact a tribute to a historic game like Rastan Saga, which in the 80s featured a level of challenge worthy of hardcore players.
Classic, tough action
Volgarr the Viking 2 presents itself as a direct sequel to the experience tried in the first chapter.
Based on what we can see in the presentation trailer, the game offers new levels and new gameplay mechanics, with situations that seem decidedly more varied than the original.
Ten years after the first chapter, Volgarr the Viking 2 offers 2D action between platforms and bladed weapon shots which is a direct evolution compared to the progenitor, also promising rather new game mechanics.
The release date is set for August 6, 2024 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series
