The governor of Santander, Juvenal Díaz Mateus, who is also a major general (r) of the Colombian National Army, has been very excited about the final of the Betplay 2024-I League that Atlético Bucaramanga will play against Independiente Santa Fe.

According to Dimayor, The first leg will take place next Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 pm in Bucaramanga and the return match will be played at the El Campín stadium in Bogotá on Saturday the 15th.
Given this, Juvenal Díaz Mateus personally invited, through his X account, to the mayor of Bogotá Carlos Fernando Galán to enjoy this sporting event in which, according to him, Bucaramanga will emerge victorious.
In recent days, the governor of Santander has shown his excitement for this Colombian professional soccer final: “Bucaramanga is going to be champion, I am sure of that, for a very basic reason. There is an element called combative morale, which multiplies the power of a force, in this case of a team, and the combative morale of Atlético Bucaramanga is at 500 percent,” he commented.

He even pointed out that he had been asked to change the name of the Alfonso López stadium: “Many Santander residents have asked me to analyze the possibility of changing the name of the stadium. We are going to carry out a survey to find out what the majority of fans think. For now I have heard three options: Keep the name, Professor Américo Montanini or Germán Aceros”, and put the options to vote in the hands of football fans.
For now, Galán has not commented on Díaz Mateus’s invitation nor is it known if he will attend the game in Bucaramanga this weekend.
