Genoa – After the denial of the request for mitigation of the precautionary measure for the former president of the port of Genoa Paolo Emilio Signorini, he would be ready to be deposited in the next few hours the appeal to the Review Court. The former president of the Port Authority and (suspended) CEO of Iren intends to ask for a review of the measure that ordered his detention in prison since May 7th.
It is then estimated that the decision could arrive within two weeks. Signorini is detained in the Marassi prison in Genoa on charges of corruption in the exercise of his duties. Last week, after the interrogation before the investigating judge in which he had exercised the right not to answer, Signorini spoke before the prosecutors of the investigation, rejecting all accusations and claiming to have worked only in the exclusive interest of the port.
Superintendent Bartolini is in charge today
The interrogation of the Superintendent of Fine Arts Cristina Bartolini ended after an hour and a half. When leaving the courtroom she did not want to make any statements. “No thank you”. She said while answering reporters’ questions.
The official was heard as a witness in the case of the Calata Concenter burial. Bartolini initially highlighted, in an interview, the restriction of the Fine Arts on the area and then instead gave the opposite opinion to the vote.
The area located under the Lanterna is among the concessions at the center of the investigation into bribes in the Region which led Signorini to prison and the governor of Liguria Giovanni Toti, his chief of staff Matteo Cozzani and the entrepreneur to house arrest port worker Aldo Spinelli. It was Spinelli himself who asked the mayor Marco Bucci and the governor for intervention in that area to increase the usable surface area.
After Bartolini, in the next few days, they will be heard Annamaria Bonomoformer state lawyer in Genoa and consultant (free of charge) to the commissioner structure for the post-Morandi reconstruction led by Bucci, and Lucia Cristina Tringali, manager and head of internal anti-corruption of the Port Authority. All of them had expressed doubts about the legitimacy of the operation in 2022.
