Everything seems to indicate that the biggest PlayStation proposal for the second half of the year will be AstroBot. This new installment in the beloved Team Asobi series was met with positive reception from the public, who have been even more happy when it was announced that this title will be four times larger than Astro’s Playroom.
In the question and answer section on the game’s official site, PlayStation has revealed that the new AstroBot will feature four times more content compared to Astro’s Playroom. Here we will find six different worlds, with a total of 80 levels. This is what was said about it:
“Unlike ASTRO’s Playroom, ASTRO BOT is a full-size standalone adventure that offers more than four times the number of worlds, 300 robots to rescue, and dozens of new powers and features to discover.”
Astro’s Playroom is the free experience that comes pre-installed on every PlayStation 5. This is an adventure that lasts approximately three hours. Thus, It would not be unreasonable to think that AstroBot could last between 10 and 15 hours, although at the moment there is no official information about it. Along with this, it has been confirmed that this installment will not have any type of microtransaction or multiplayer section.
Finally, PlayStation has made it clear that AstroBot It is not free-to-play, although at the moment it is unknown if this installment will cost $70 dollars, and it will only be available on PlayStation 5, at least for the moment. Although it has been made clear that this installment will not reach PS4 and PS VR2, There’s no mention of PC, so there’s a chance this title will eventually come to Steam.
Remember, AstroBot It will arrive on PlayStation 5 on September 6, 2024. On related topics, this was the public’s reception of the new game. Likewise, you can check out our review of Astro’s Playroom here.
Author’s Note:
I’m getting more and more excited about the new AstroBot. If this game does well in sales, then it could signal to Sony that not everything has to be a large-scale AAA experience, and small productions are worth it.
