The most reliable Chinese used cars on the Russian secondary market include models whose owners were least likely to get into accidents and contact service centers for repairs in the first 6 years of operation, said Evgeniy Zhitnukhin, head of the dealership department of the FRESH automotive marketplace. He named them in a conversation with Lenta.ru.
According to him, the most reliable Chinese used models are Changan CS35, JAC J7, Geely Atlas Pro, Haval Jolion and Changan CS35 Plus. “In addition, Changan CS35 and Geely Atlas Pro have the highest score in the 2015 C-NCAP crash test, which tests the effectiveness of front and side airbags, as well as curtains,” the specialist said.

When choosing a Chinese used car, he also advised taking into account the length of presence of its manufacturer in the Russian car market: the presence of a wide network of service centers and qualified specialists in diagnostics, repair and maintenance, the availability of auto parts, as well as the age and year of manufacture of the model.
“For example, most cars from China produced before 2015 caused their owners a lot of problems and required regular investments in replacing and repairing their components and assemblies. In particular, one of the most “unsuccessful” Chinese models is Chery Amulet, as well as the entire range of the Lifan brand,” Zhitnukhin shared.
Earlier it became known that in the spring of 2024, Russians began to resell Chinese cars 70 percent more often. In turn, the demand for such cars among Russians increased by 15 percent over this period of time.
