We are in a time of several reboots and reboots of products that we already knew, but that are now trying to reach a new audience and perhaps cause the interest of those who grew up with certain programs, the clearest example is The Office, a series that has taken the affection of many viewers. And speaking precisely of this production, it seems that the program that will serve as its successor would want to detach itself a little from the previous one, so it would have a totally different name.
On the biography page Greg Daniels The Writers Guild of America West page shows him as showrunner and executive producer of The Paper , project without previous title. It is scheduled for the 2024-2025 season and is listed as a comedy, which aligns with the news that has been buzzing around The Office. And it goes without saying, at this time it already has a couple of actors confirmed to appear in its first episodes.
Something that should be made clear is that many of the original actors have no intention of appearing, including Steve Carellwho played Michael Scott. Here are their statements:
I’ll be watching but I won’t show up. It’s just something new and there’s really no reason for my character to appear in something like that.
But I’m excited, it sounds like a big conceit. I love the idea; I guess it’s set in a bankrupt newspaper company. And I worked with Domhnall Gleeson, who’s one of the leads, I did The Patient with him and he’s a great actor and a super nice guy, so I think it’ll be great.

Author’s note: Definitely the idea of making a newspaper in the old west doesn’t sound so bad, but let’s hope that by now it will be worth it for the new audience. We’ll have to see how it goes until its official premiere.
