Through an official statement, PlayStation has revealed that an update will be available on August 7, 2024 that will give us the opportunity to use the PS VR2 on PC and enjoy the library of Virtual Reality games on Steam. However, For this you will need a special adapter, which will cost $59.99 dollars. as well as a DisplayPort cable, sold separately, that supports DisplayPort 1.4, a Steam account, and a PC that meets the minimum requirements.
Once you have everything you need, simply connect PlayStation VR2 to your PC using the DisplayPort 1.4 adapter and cable. Followed by this, you have to download the PlayStation VR2 app and the SteamVR app from Steam. This will allow you to configure the Sony device on your PC and gaming area.
However, considering that the PlayStation VR2 was designed from the ground up specifically for PS5, some key features, such as HDR, headset feedback, Eye tracking, adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, not available on PC. Fortunately, other high-fidelity and sensory immersion features of the VR device, such as 4K support, 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection and transparent view, as well as foveated rendering, and 3D audio in games still they are compatible.
