To Alghero ended on 21st Rally Italia Sardiniasixth test of WRC World Championship 2024with the victory of Oct Tanak paired with Martin Jaervoja on Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid. Tanak, WRC world champion in 2019, won for the third time this race, organized by the Automobile Club of Italy with the support of Sparcoafter the successes of 2017 and 2022. The victory was achieved in the last stretch of the race thanks to a Power Stage in attack, which allowed the Estonian crew to win with only 2 tenths ahead on Sebastien Ogier And Vincent Landais on Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybridpenalized by a puncture in the last test.

The Rally Italia Sardegna was characterized by an intense battle between Oct Tanak And Sebastien Ogier, solved only at the last meter of the last special stage. In the end, Tanak won in the Hyundai, while Ogier in the Toyota finished second due to a tire problem on his Yaris Rally1 Hybrid.
Thierry NeuvilleHyundai’s top driver, won the Power Stage, reviving the fortunes of his race after an accident that put him out of action in the seventh stage. The podium of the Sardinia Rally was thus completed by Daniel Sordo who took third place at the wheel of the i20 N Rally1, favored by the retirements of Neuville And Takamoto Katsuta. Elfyn Evans on Toyota he achieved fourth place, followed by Gregory Munster on Ford Puma M-Sport.
With this victory, Ott Tanak has confirmed himself as a specialist in Sardinian dirt roads and relaunches his ambitions for the drivers championship. Tanak is now in second place, with 104 points, tied with Elfyn Evans. Both have a gap of eighteen points from the leader of the standings, Thierry Neuvillewhich has 122 points.
