The farewell and funeral of Anastasia Zavorotnyuk ended in Moscow on June 1
The farewell to Russian actress Anastasia Zavorotnyuk has been completed. She was buried at the Troekurovskoye cemetery in Moscow.
The actress was buried in the Alley of Celebrities next to the Soviet film director Vadim Abdrashitov. Near her grave also rest actors Valentin Gaft, Anastasia Voznesenskaya and People’s Artist Roman Kartsev.
A civil memorial service for the actress was held at the Pokrovsky Monastery
The beginning of the farewell ceremony was scheduled for 11:00 Moscow time. The first to enter the monastery hall were members of the actress’s family: her husband Pyotr Chernyshev, mother Valentina Borisovna, as well as daughter Anna and son Michael.
Later it became clear that hundreds of people came to the farewell ceremony for the star of the series “My Fair Nanny” and stood in long lines to get closer to their favorite actress. Her close friends and colleagues also came, including Lolita, Edgard Zapashny, Tatyana Tarasova, Tatyana Navka, Gennady Khazanov and others. Wreaths with memorable inscriptions and fresh flowers were sent by TV stars Andrei Malakhov, Alexander Mitroshenkov and the Union of Cinematographers of Russia.
Farewell to Zavorotnyuk ended with applause. The Russians celebrated the artist’s coffin with the words “Bravo!” Some shouted words of gratitude.
Many relatives and colleagues spoke about Anastasia Zavorotnyuk
In particular, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, and his wife Tatyana Navka came to say goodbye to the actress. After going to the temple, Navka said that the actress “will forever remain in the memory of all viewers.” She also notedthat Zavorotnyuk will be remembered as “a bright, cheerful beauty, an incredible wife, mother.”
Ilya Averbukh remembered the moment when, during the Ice Age project, he choreographed a dance for Zavorotnyuk and Chernyshev, who at that time was only her dance partner. “I choreographed a dance, one of the main ones in life, for Nastya and Peter… where Peter proposed to Anastasia at the beginning of the Ice and Fire project,” he shared his memories. Averbukh also emphasized that Zavorotnyuk achieved popular love during her lifetime.
Edgard Zapashny, in turn, called the Russian artist an example to follow. “Great actor. And most importantly, he is a great person. She is a great role model for all actors,” he said.

Anastasia Zavorotnyuk was born on April 3, 1971 in Astrakhan. The actress, married to businessman Dmitry Stryukov, had a daughter, Anna (born in 1996), and a son, Michael (born in 2000). Later, in 2018, the actress, being together with Pyotr Chernyshev, conceived using IVF and gave birth to a daughter – she was named Mila.
Zavorotnyuk became most famous for her role in the comedy series “My Fair Nanny,” which aired on the STS channel from 2004 to 2009. The artist admitted that she got into the project unexpectedly and did not expect to become famous. Zavorotnyuk also managed to take part in the projects “Dancing with the Stars” and “Marriage Games”.
The artist passed away at the age of 53 on May 30. For several years starting in 2019, she battled glioblastoma, or brain cancer. All these years, Zavorotnyuk underwent treatment in different clinics. Shortly before her death, the actress’s condition deteriorated sharply – this happened two weeks ago.
