A security guard at a site under construction in one of the residential complexes became suspicious of a worker leaving the site carrying a bag in his hand, so he asked him to stand up, but the latter ignored him and tried to escape when the guard approached him, who chased him and was able to arrest him, and asked him about the contents of the bag he had, so he told him that there were There were clothes in it, so he forced him to open them to find copper cables that he confirmed were stolen from the site, so he spoke to his direct supervisor, who informed the police.
The Dubai Public Prosecution charged the accused with committing the crime of attempted theft, and a misdemeanor of destroying property owned by others, including wires that he cut, causing damage amounting to 4,000 dirhams, and referred him to the Penal Court.
