Passenger: when the train stopped on the Sokolnicheskaya metro line, people panicked
One of the passengers on a train stopped in the Moscow metro told what happened during the incident. Yusup Ozdoev reported Izvestia reports that train passengers panicked because they noticed smoke.
“Everyone started screaming, breaking glass and doors, and another person and I came up and pushed the doors open. We didn’t know where to go, there were a lot of people. The driver didn’t answer us. “We decided to go further along the tunnel, in the opposite direction from where we were coming,” he said.
According to the passenger, people began to run because they were afraid of the oncoming train. At some point they stopped to contact emergency services. Ozdoev added that he was able to follow the tracks to the next station, where he was met by a metro employee.
Earlier, one of the train passengers said that during a technical failure on the Sokolnicheskaya line of the Moscow metro, subway employees acted professionally. A technical failure on the Red Line became known on the evening of May 31. At present, traffic on the line has been completely restored; none of the passengers were injured.
