“As a government representative, I sign the Charter of Rights promoted by Aism, because it is important to ‘help those who help’ people with multiple sclerosis and their families. We will continue to accompany you in this human and social adventure, giving maximum concreteness in the realization of the universal principles of the Charter, with the certainty that the rights claimed by people with multiple sclerosis are the same as those with another chronic disease or disability. We work for a policy that does not decide on people, but with people. At this moment the uncertainty of the future concerns everyone, but those who have a disease like multiple sclerosis face this uncertainty with a greater depth of difficulty”. Thus Maria Teresa Bellucci, deputy minister of Labor and Social Policies, speaking at the conference organized by Aism, in the Chamber of Deputies, on the occasion of World Multiple Sclerosis Day.
“When the disease enters into life it erases that idea of omnipotence that we have, we come to terms with our fragility, our humanity and our imperfection. Those who have multiple sclerosis have a companion who takes you by the hand and who doesn’t leave more. We join with Aism to advance the right to a better life for patients, a free life in which to cultivate their dreams, going beyond the disease. The Government is close to all of you”, concludes Bellucci.
