Publisher 3D Realms has released the launch trailer for the cooperative first-person shooter Ripout, which comes packed with huge monsters and plenty of ruthless action. The movie begins with one of these creatures going on the attack and being riddled with bullets, killing several soldiers on its way. So she is killed with a particular weapon, the pet gun, which we wouldn’t call as cute as the name might suggest, but which seems to be very effective (it’s a kind of alien shooting gun). The video continues with a quick montage of gameplay sequences, which convey the sci-fi atmosphere of the title well.
Ripout takes players on a space odyssey within abandoned spaceships, invaded by mutant creatures. Players will have to fight to survive, using the loot collected in their sorties to fight. Will they be able to find a safe haven for them and their living weapons? Or will they end up like other human beings?
Humanity adrift
In reality, no one knows where exactly Sanctuary, the final destination, is located. It is also impossible to say whether salvation awaits them or not fate much worse than that which befalls those who fail on spaceships. Ripout is essentially a PvE title, which can be played alone or together with other human players, with whom you can form small teams.
It should be underlined that the game missions are designed to last a maximum of 10-20 minutes, i.e. they are short but full of action. They are also procedurally generated, so they change every time a new sortie is attempted. The difficulty of the game itself is adaptable, so that all types of players can enjoy it.
