Through the pages of InsiderGaming, Tom Henderson seems to have anticipated one of the biggest announcements scheduled for theXbox Games Showcase 2024 by Microsoft. We are talking about Doom: The Dark Agesor what will potentially be the next chapter in id Software’s shooter series.
According to Hederson’s sources, the game will be officially presented on June 9, but he offered no indication on which platforms it is in development. According to Jez Coden of Windows Central, it could also arrive on PlayStation consoles, as well as on Xbox Series
A Doom set in the Middle Ages?
The game was previously leaked online with the subtitle Year Zero. Henderson says the final name will instead be “The Dark Ages” and that it may be connected in some way to the Middle Ages. The details that have reached the ears of the deep throat state that it is a “Medieval-inspired Doom“, whatever that means.
“Middle Ages” and “The Dark Ages” (translatable into Dark Ages, an expression to define the era that goes from the end of the Western Roman Empire to the Renaissance) are terms that have a certain affinity, while “Year Zero” ) could indicate a turning point or break in the series compared to previous chapters. In short, the question intrigues us quite a bit, provided that Henderson’s information turns out to be true.
At this point we just have to wait for theXbox Games Showcase to find out how much truth there is. We remind you that the appointment is set for 7pm Italian time on Sunday 9 June.
