The global servers of XDefiant opened their doors today, kicking off the preseason of Ubisoft’s free-to-play shooter. Unfortunately, as often happens with the debut of a highly anticipated new multiplayer game, players are experiencing problems problemsparticularly relating to matchmakingwith very long, if not interminable, waiting times to enter a game.
Basically trying to join a match or join a friend’s game, the player is greeted by a screen that says “unable to find a match”. However, those who do not encounter this error in most cases find themselves waiting a long time before being matched with a match. In practice at the moment very few are managing to play.
It doesn’t help that at the moment the Practice Zone, basically a free training area, is not yet active, so the unlucky players can only twiddle their thumbs… or change their game.
Ubisoft is already investigating the issue
Luckily Ubisoft is already investigating the issue and, according to the update published on to enter the game.
For those who don’t know, XDefiant is one Free-to-play multiplayer shooter where players battle as various factions inspired by Ubisoft’s most famous games. For example, teams he Cleaners (inspired by The Division), Libertad (Far Cry 6), Echelon (Splinter Cell), DedSec (Watch Dogs 2) and Phantoms (Ghost Recon Phantoms) are available at launch, with more coming later launching from season to season. Here is the content available in the preseason.
