CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty received two awards during the gala evening of Digital Dragonswhere awards are given to the best video games developed in Poland.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty won the first of “Best Polish game“, a category in which “the best, most important and most exceptional games of the past year are rewarded. The jury takes into consideration the overall quality of each nominated title: its production values, plot, gameplay and care in creation. The winner must be one step ahead of the competition.”
The other games nominated were: Against the Storm (Eremite Games), RoboCop: Rogue City (Teyon), The Invincible (Starward Industries) and Witchfire (The Astronauts).
The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion also received the award for best narrative, a category in which Fort Solis (Fallen Leaf, Black Drakkar Games), Gord (Covenant.dev), The Invincible (Starward Industries) and Witchfire (The Astronauts).
An important recognition
In short CD Projekt Red he has received important recognition in his homeland. Considering that the Polish video game industry is one of the most aggressive in Europe, this is a significant result, which also recognizes the efforts made to improve a project that started off on the wrong foot, which with the launch of the expansion had its its moment of greatest splendor.
THE Digital Dragons Awards they are the oldest and most prestigious awards in the Polish gaming industry. The winners are chosen through the votes of experts nominated by the jury and the entire developer community. The gala ceremony, which takes place in the middle of the conference, is one of the largest events of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. This year’s edition was held on Monday 20 May.
The fiction award was accepted by Open World Designer Jakub Tomczak and Quest Designer Maria Mazur. All the CD PROJEKT RED developers present, coming from various sectors, instead took to the stage to collect the award for the best Polish game of 2023.
