After its revelation yesterday, many still have several doubts about Assassin’s Creed: Shadows. One of the most important aspects of each delivery is the size of the map. Considering that each new title shows us a bigger world, fans hope that this Japan will have a similar dimension to what we saw in Valhalla. However, It seems that this will not be the case.
In a recent interview with IGN, Jonathan Dumont, creative director of Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, has confirmed that the map of this installment is similar to what was seen in Origins, a title that allowed us to tour Egypt. This is what he said about it:
“It’s in line with the last Assassin’s Creed we’ve done. On a scale level, maybe we can compare it a little more to the size of Assassin’s Creed Origins. We wanted to have a scale relationship much closer to that of real life.
So, because the castles took up a lot of space and we really wanted the mountains to look like they were mountains, we made the environments look larger in the game. But I would say it’s about the same size as Origins.”
This means that the Feudal Japan that we can visit in Assassin’s Creed: Shadows could be below Greece and England in Odyssey and Valhalla, respectively. However, it would be larger than seen in Mirage. From what Dumont mentions, the focus this time is more on the density of the locations, and not so much on how big the map is.
We remind you that Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 15, 2024. On related topics, Japan reacts to this game. Likewise, you can learn about this delivery here.
Author’s Note:
Size isn’t everything in Assassin’s Creed. One of the sections that were most criticized in Valhalla It’s just that the map is too big. In this way, having a space similar to what was seen in Origins can be a positive aspect that improves the experience of all users.
