Nintendo is preparing for the arrival of its next generation of consoles and is certainly working on various games in the background. One of these could be a chapter of The Legend of Zelda in which the heroine who gives the saga its name is the real one herocontrolled by the player.
For the moment it is just a rumor and nothing more and it comes from a “suspicious” tweet by PapaGenos. The user is not a real leaker, but he is the source who shared correct information about Metroid Prime Remastered and Mario vs. Donkey Kong in the past.
His tweet reads: “Tears of the kingdom had great Zelda design. I think we are seriously overdue for a game where Zelda is the main character. I feel like a Hyrule adventure like this is something fans want, it’s time Right.”
What’s hidden in the Zelda tweet?
At first glance you might think that PapaGenos’ message is generic and that I just want to underline how The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers a pleasant version of the princess.
The problem is that the message hides a secret: by using capital letters inserted in an apparently random way, the writing “THIS IS A HINT” is formed.
This is obviously not a confirmation, but it is curious that a source who has shared correct information about new Nintendo games would publish a message of this type. It could just be a way to get attention indirectly, but it seems unlikely.
Furthermore, Nintendo has recently published a game starring a princess (Princess Peach: Showtime!) and may have also decided to create a Zelda game, so as to bring even more femininity into its portfolio.
There will be a Nintendo Direct in June, so maybe that will be the right time to find out something about it.
