Call of Duty: Ghosts And Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare they will return with new episodes respectively in 2026 and 2027according to what was reported by a data miner who also revealed the code names of the two projects and the related development teams.
According to this information, the Call of Duty: Ghosts chapter coming in 2026 will be developed by Infinity Ward and its code name is Project Devilwood, while the Advanced Warfare chapter arriving in 2027 will be developed by Sledgehammer Games and its code name is Project Anvil.
If the rumor turns out to be true, it would mean that Infinity Ward will return to work on the Activision franchise two years after the release of his latest work, Modern Warfare 2, despite almost a third of the team having been fired.
The same fate will befall Sledgehammer Games, which signed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and will return to stores in 2027 with a new episode of Modern Warfare, in the hope that the studio manage to put together a better campaign.
Meanwhile, Black Ops returns this year
As has been rumored for some time now, this year’s Call of Duty episode will be Black Ops Gulf War and will most likely be officially presented during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9th.
