Footballer would have posed as his twin brother in scandalous signing in Romania: Dinamo Bucharest denies the version

Specifically, it is being investigated whether the footballer Edgar Ié he made his twin brother play Edelino in his place for five games.

The news arose when a Romanian journalist published that Dinamo Bucharest had been surprised that the player did not speak English well and only communicated in Portuguese, despite having previously played in Spain, France, Turkey and the Netherlands.

This Monday, Dinamo Bucharest has described as false the news that the twin of former Barcelona player Edgar Miguel Ié, Edelino, has replaced his brother on the team and has announced legal measures against the authors of that information.

“It is a false, slanderous and cancerous attack against the club,” the team denounced in a statement in which it responds to the rumor started on social networks that
Edelino jumped onto the field pretending to be his brother last Sunday in the match between Dinamo Bucharest and FC UTA Arad, from the Romanian first division.

Dinamo thus denies the news, spread by various media, that whoever joined the club last February, from Feyenoord of Türkiye, it was Edelino and not Edgar.

The Romanian club assured that Edgar Ié was signed through a prestigious European sports agency and that transparency and legality prevailed throughout the process.

Dinamo explains in its statement that Edgar Miguel Ié received “an international transfer certificate issued by the Turkish Federation, verified by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and FIFA, registered by the Professional Football League (LPF). He also received a registration certificate from the Immigration General Inspectorate (IGI).”

Dinamo has indicated that it has initiated a procedure to sue the author of this false information “for serious damage to the club’s image.” Edgar Miguel Ié is a 30-year-old Portuguese footballer who, at just 14, in 2008, signed for Sporting Clube de Portugal and in 2012 for Barcelona B. He also played for Nantes.
