Developer Evil Empire has announced a delay in the launch of their upcoming roguelite game, The Rogue Prince of Persia. Originally slated for early access on May 14ththe game’s release has been pushed back to later in the month, with a specific date to be announced on Monday.
The decision comes following the launch of Hades 2 in Early Access earlier this week, an event that caught the attention of players and critics. Evil Empire preferred not to immediately compete with a title so awaited and played, even by their own team.
“Since everyone, including our team and their moms, is playing that game, we decided to let people have fun with it before releasing The Rogue Prince of Persia,” he has declared Evil Empire.

Despite the confidence in developing your own gamethe company recognizes the importance of a strategic release, especially considering the coincidence with another game of the same genre highly anticipated for 2024.
The postponement not only avoids a potential competition, but it gives the studio additional time to polish the game. Now the team has a chance to test the day one patch and make further improvements.
