11-bit Studios recently announced the new milestone reached by Frostpunk as regards the sales overall, what time exceed 5 million copiesrepresenting a great success in all respects.
The game is a city builder in survival roguelike style, therefore not exactly a genre that can be considered mass, which makes the result achieved even more remarkable. To this we must also add the fact that it is not exactly a colossal production, which puts things in an even more advantageous perspective, given the sales achieved.
The announcement was made by the team in a post on Steam, in which we also learned that players spent, on average, 24 hours each on Frostpunk, with 3% of users having played the title in question for over 1000 hours.
Meanwhile we are getting closer to Frostpunk 2
Released in April 2018, Frostpunk has come into its own sixth anniversarywith a remarkable path regarding sales, which have continued to remain consistent over the years.
At this point, 11-bit Studios is preparing to launch the sequel, Frostpunk 2, which starts from a well-established base given the results achieved in the first chapter. The release of the new one is set for July 25, 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, set 30 years after the apocalyptic storm that changed the world of the game.
Frostpunk 2 represents an evolution in several senses, also modifying some game mechanics, as we have also seen in our beta test published just recently.
